The WIAC, or Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, is composed of eight NCAA Division III teams. This includes five teams from the Wisconsin school system (Oshkosh, Stout, Whitewater, La Crosse and Eau Claire) and three teams from Minnesota (Gustavus Adolphus, Hamline and Winona State). The WIAC for women’s gymnastics has been around since 1974, however, the teams from Minnesota were not added until 2005. The WIAC is considered a very strong conference in DIII and always places high in the standings at DIII nationals. Past winners of the WIAC include UW-Lacrosse (23 times), UW-Oshkosh (14 times) and UW-Whitewater (5 times). Since 2011, Whitewater and La Crosse have alternated as WIAC Champions.
