The Wolverines are always in the hunt for a conference title, Super Six berth or national title season after season. The team won its 23rd Big Ten title in 2017. Michigan has qualified to nationals 23 times and has qualified to the Super Six 10 times, with the last coming in 2011. While the team has yet to win a national championship, it boasts eight individual national titles won by four different gymnasts. Famous Michigan alumni include 2000 U.S. Olympian, three-time national champion and now University of Washington head coach Elise Ray, 2013 floor national champion Joanna Sampson, 2011 all-around champion Kylee Botterman and three-time uneven bars champion Beth Wymer.
