The GymHawks have been under head coach Larissa Libby’s guidance for the last 12 seasons. They appeared as a team at nationals in 2003 and 2004, and in 2016, they finished the year ranked 18th after placing fifth at the Big Ten Championship, qualifying to NCAA regionals and sending Mollie Drenth to the NCAA National Championships. The GymHawks have qualified to regionals as a team eight times out of the last nine years and frequently send individuals to nationals. The most notable former gymnast of the program is Houry Gebeshian who competed at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, representing Armenia—a first for both her and the small nation.
